Comedy on the Air

Although Television is the entertainment medium of the 90's, there was a time when radio was the king of the household. Although it covered nearly every motif (drama, suspense, etc.), the focus of the page is on the comedic motif. Listed here, for those of you who are unfamiliar to radio, are, in my opinion, the Top Ten Comedic Radio Shows of the Golden Age of Radio (1935-1955):

1. The Jack Benny Program
2. The Burns and Allen Show
3. Fibber McGee and Molly
4. The Charlie McCarthy Show
5. The Abbott and Costello Show
6. Our Miss Brooks
7. The Life of Riley
8. The Great Gildersleve
9. The Fred Allen Show
10. The Jimmy Durante Show

Now, these are only my opinions. If you have different ones please voice them to me at my e-mail address. Now, if you would like to return to JTEC's Entertainment home page click here.
