Diddy Kong racing isn't your typical racing game. It has a good plot,
something which separates it from Mario Kart 64 and improves the
gameplay drastically. There is actually a purpose to going race after
race, and there are more levels. I am going to say straight up that
I don't like racing games all that much. This game would have had
a better rating for gameplay if I did.
The graphics in Diddy Kong Racing were a little dissapointing. It
came out after Mario Kart 64, but it didn't exceed those graphics.
If you play Mario Kart, then Diddy Kong right after, there is an
obvious difference in graphics.
The sound in Diddy Kong Racing is one of its finer points. I get
a crack every time I hear their voices right when you pick them.
The AI isn't great, but I don't think many racing-games-with-little-
cartoon-characters-riding-go-carts-with-lawnmower-engines are supposed
to have great artificial intelligence.
